I still prefer writing emails

Whenever it comes to drafting a new email, I just get so excited. Why? You must be thinking!

Now, before I begin telling you the reason, you must first assimilate the taste of your client or audience, even before you start sending the emails with no value proportion.

Ever since I decided to commercialise my art work, there were major road blocks for me, namely :

  • Lack of website
  • Limited audience
  • Demographics

But after great rounds of putting my brain to test, I finally settled for the digital marketing strategy called Email marketing. Trust me, even though I don’t have a website for my art , I personalise emails for my Instagram audience and new joiners who show interest in my work. Since majority of my followers and people I know are between 24–50, I know well their preferences and expectations.

It feels encouraging when you inbox gets replies from those audience- positive or negative, it still keeps me going.

According to me emails work wonders, here is why :

  • I have opportunity to curate the content/text according to the latest developments.
  • 90 percent of my followers and audience is from India, so I know what works best.
  • If not, then create short edutainment emails.
  • Since I am more into aviation art, I have diverse audience from the same field that opens up more sky for creativity and marketing.

My personal pointers for sending emails :

  • Flashy, promising promotions don’t always work.
  • Growing my social media followers via email isn’t a priority.
  • If you have an attractive website, then email marketing is your best friend.
  • Your audience need to get that feel when they read your email. Else be prepared for the bounce rates.
  • Add a relevant image /banner to your email depending on the subject.
  • Whether they show any signs of conversions or subscriptions is a thing I am least bothered because, my motto is to bring them near my domain and last year I was fortunate enough to have received good sales via commission work. Word of mouth and email forwards do work!

Be creative and simple!

The final word is to focus on what you like and try your best to reach your audience with emails.
