Tour & Temperature — Vijayawada
Exhausted from work and yearning for a quick getaway, my mind wandered, seeking a respite not too far from Hyderabad. The answer came swiftly — Vijayawada, fondly known as ‘The city of victory’, beckoned. With my tickets booked in advance, I set out on 27th April 2024, boarding the comfortable SCANIA coach from MGBS at 7:50 am.
As the bus glided through the morning sun, excitement surged within me. A bottle of water and some millets chips sustained me as we traversed NH65. Though the landscape turned arid as we approached Vijayawada, my enthusiasm remained undiminished. Seasons don’t deter my wanderlust; the thrill of the journey transcends all.
Arriving at PNBS by 1:30 pm, the scorching noon sun greeted me. After a short auto ride to my hotel, I refreshed myself, ordered lunch, and succumbed to a much-needed nap. Evening found me exploring Benz Circle, culminating in a refreshing coconut water before retiring for the night.
The next morning, I embarked on an early pilgrimage, visiting the Sri Kanakadurga temple and soaking in the ethereal beauty of the Krishna river, with an imposing ‘Prakasam Barrage’.
The serene dawn afforded me ample time to visit other temples, including the Ujjain temple and the Sri Paankala Swamy temple in Mangalagiri. As the sun reached its zenith, I retreated to my hotel, replenishing my energy with a glass of fresh lemon sharbat.
By 5 pm, I bid farewell to Vijayawada, boarding the ‘Rajdhani’ bus bound for Hyderabad. With stars adorning the night sky, I reflected on the whirlwind journey, from start to finish, grateful for the moments and memories created.
